Beyond the academy
Back in 1999 while part of a small group praying for Regent College, I listened as our writer-in-residence Luci Shaw (then serving on the Board), prayed specifically for the Lord to raise up the next generation of female scholars. Naturally, female scholars are not a new thing at Regent, but Luci was sensing the need for more women to move into the Academy.
Now 15 years on we've decided to highlight a few of our alumnae in the July issue of the alumni Mosaic News, as they represent some of the many Regent women active in multi-displined fields, and breaking ground in Education and Pedagogy, Victorian Literature, Biblical Studies, Counselling, Byzantine Music, Theology and beyond. So enjoy reading these stories. Remembering Luci's prayer, we give thanks to God for his faithfulness in raising up these thoughtful, articulate, and godly scholars, and the many more called to serve in their diverse communities.
